Debates

Before the September primary, Transportation Alternatives hosted 3 candidate forums in New York City. The Tri-State Transportation Campaign will release details on two additional debates in the greater MTA region -- including Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson River Valley -- in the coming weeks. Transportation Alternatives may also host an additional debate in Queens in October. Stay tuned.

New York State Senate, District 31 Debate
Candidates Adriano Espaillat, Mark Levine, Miosotis Munoz, Anna Lewis and Ann Roos debated the MTA, bike lanes and pedestrian safety at a candidate forum co-hosted with WE ACT for Environmental Justice. The forum was moderated by Dan Rivoli, West Side Spirit and David King, Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. The debate was held on Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 at the Armory at 216 Fort Washington Avenue.

New York State Senate, District 10 Debate
Lynn Nunes and Clare Trapasso, a Daily News reporter, spent an evening discussing transportation in Richmond Hill, Queens. Shirley Huntley, the incumbent, did not attend. The Richmond Hill EDC co-sponsored the debate held at the Fairfield Pavilion on Wednesday, September 1st, 2010.

New York State Senate, District 33 Debate
Picture the Homeless, the Bronx News Network and Transportation Alternatives teamed up to present a District 33 Debate. Daniel Padernacht and John Reynolds were the only candidates in attendance. Alex Kratz, of the Norwood News, moderated the event held at the Fordham Evangelical Lutheran Church on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010.
